Same thing with the failing test. Same test, not sure whether that's just always failing these days?

Same test as elsewhere. I think it's safe to assume that this patch isn't responsible for the failing test, so I'll merge. |

Follow-up to #6927 that mostly just improves our checks for corrupted checkpoint files while resuming.
