Unauthenticated Rate limit despite active account in Customization

I have added my personal account and access token in the Customization menu.
The site is set to docker.io (leaving it empty as suggested by the help text does not work, the field is required)
Clicking on test connection shows it works.
The statistics however show 0 Pulls using those credentials.

Arcane simply ignores the credential and tries to do an anonymous pull anyway.
Any ideas how to fix this?
