Custom Widget

Hello,
I would like to create my own widget to track the bus stops of my city. I saw the Custom Widget API you provide but in my case I need a bit more customization to do time conversion for instance.
Is it possible to create custom widgets using JSX and use them in Homepage without having to fork/clone the project?

Looking for similar options to 'side load' Custom widgets.

There could be plenty of interesting widgets developed for self use, or due to small number of users would not satisfy the "10 or more" constraint in the development guidelines.
Maintaining a custom branch for the whole homepage application would be a hassle to just get one custom widget loaded in.
