[Feature Request] Widget displaying RSS Feed from an URL

Hello, everyone!
Thank you to the community and the Homepage developers.

I would like to suggest a feature that interests me: displaying an RSS feed from a given URL. Something that can be configured a little, like this:

What do you think?

To tell you the truth, I've already developed the feature on my own. So if anyone's interested, I can offer it to the community.
I just need to test a few more things.

Currently, I believe that the FreshRSS widget only displays the number of "unread" items and the number of "subscriptions."
So what I'm proposing goes a little further, but at the same time it's not an RSS feed manager either.

Oh wow, didn't even realize that. I am looking for exactly what you are proposing - something that just shows items from an RSS feed. Only thing I'd add in this hypothetical scenario is a control for how many items are displayed, similar to how the calendar functionality works with the maxEvents code

That's what I did yes.

This example corresponds to the bottom left widget in the image I posted above.

Just a heads up that this widget is entirely out of line with the guidelines or anything that exists within homepage, so if it gets there it would either need to be modified / slimmed down in its scope. Homepage will always be a poor way to read RSS articles, we have no intention of changing that (its the "home page is not a Swiss army knife" idea we have stated many times)

Yes, to tell you the truth, I suspected that it would not pass your approval.
But is there a way to integrate plugins into Homepage without interfering with your code (NPM package) ? I don't think so. This could be a good compromise between your desire to keep Homepage clean and certain needs/wishes of the community.

My use case here may differ from others... I would like be to able to display a feed that relates to my server/homelab environment. I want to log key actions (container updates, backups, intrusion detection, automated downloads, etc) to a feed and display that relevant info on the homepage. I currently log those event to a NTFY channel (which there is no solution currently to display on a homepage), but an RSS feed would work just as well. I'm not interested in displaying arbitrary RSS (such as daily news, etc)

I'm afraid Gethomepage isn't the right tool for that, given the admin's response above.
But you could perhaps use the IFrame widget coupled with an external RSS feed service:
