This reproduces nothing, of course: Screen.Recording.2026-09-06.at.5.47.44.PM.movPerhaps there is some weirdness with android and click events, I'll see what I can find |

Description
Quick Launch can open the currently selected result instead of the result I click or tap.
Reproduction:
pik.Expected:
The clicked result opens.
Actual:
The currently selected result opens instead.
I reproduced this with:
This is not only a touch issue. Mouse/trackpad selection can fail the same way.
A small custom.js workaround fixes the problem by updating the selected result on pointerdown before Homepage handles the click:
With this workaround enabled, every tested service result and the DuckDuckGo result opens correctly.
It looks like the click handler opens the current selected index instead of using the index of the clicked button.
Discussion #3864 appears to describe similar behavior, but it is closed and locked.

Troubleshooting
Reproduced on Homepage v2.2.0, revision 22f1317.
Tested with custom.js completely disabled:
The issue occurs with:
I also used a temporary diagnostic custom.js that only displayed the button index which received the event. It did not change selection behavior.
Example:
The diagnostic displayed:
CLICK | index=2 | DuckDuckGo Search
Homepage still opened a PiKVM result.
This confirms the correct button receives the click/tap, but Homepage opens the currently selected result instead.
As a workaround, I dispatch mouseover to the actual button on pointerdown. With that workaround, every tested service and DuckDuckGo result opens correctly.
