Just following up on this — still curious about your take @fevangelou One update: I tested Takai locally and ran into a PHP 8.x compatibility issue — the category view throws a deprecation error and won't render. My current setup (Joomla 3.13.0 + K2 v2.26 + Gantry 5) is actually running fine on PHP 8.5, so there's no immediate pressure. But it made me wonder whether it's worth switching templates proactively, or just stick with what works and wait. Thanks! |

Hi @fevangelou
I'm currently running Joomla 3.11.0 (your fork) with K2 and the Gantry 5 framework using the Audacity template. Since Gantry 5 has dropped Joomla 3 support in recent versions, I'm looking for a more future-proof template solution that stays within the J3/K2 ecosystem.
My requirements are modest: I'd mainly like to rebuild my existing layout rather than start from scratch. I already own a license for nuMuzik and have been looking at Takai as a lightweight alternative. Both seem like solid options but a bit outdated, but I'd love to hear your recommendation: which template would you consider the best fit for a content magazine running on the J3/K2 fork long-term?
For now, my current setup is still running stable — so I'm also wondering: should I wait until something actually breaks, or would you recommend switching sooner rather than later? And is there anything in the pipeline on the K2/template side that might affect this decision?
Thank you very much!
