[Feature]: Add a new file to Xcode Project

Feature Description

Many times, based on prompts, Cursor creates a new file. But it fails to add the file to the xcode project.
It would be great to have a tool that can correctly add the file to the right project/target.

This would be awesome. For now, my workaround has been turning all folders into "folder" from "group" for now in Xcode

And how to define target membership?

@fl034 Yup! All new files are automatically added to the target the new file is created under. I haven't discovered a way to have it added to a different target. Would love to know if you find a way. Note I am still on Xcode Version 16.4. Hopefully not much have changed in newer versions.

Got it. Folders can have individual target membership settings. Its containing files inherit them. But you can change them in Xcode, only then will a exception information be created inside the project file for the file.
Groups behave differently. You can't set target membership settings on groups. Only explicit for each file.

@hw0102 I think I'll move to Tuist or move all my code into a local Swift package. Thanks anyway for your nifty workaround!

@fl034 That is my understanding as well. Groups are a bit wonky as they are not mapped to the underlying folder and file structures at all. Best of luck with either! Got busy with life the past month. Happy new year everyone!
