Feature request: project and Git management sidebar

Summary

I’d love to have a project + Git management panel in the sidebar. This would let me stay focused inside Ghostty instead of constantly switching between the terminal and an editor.

Motivation

Most of my development work happens in the terminal. Ideally, I’d like to handle project switching and basic Git operations all in one place, so I can stay in a single tool and keep my focus.

Right now, I still have to jump back and forth between Ghostty and other tools (editors, file managers like Yazi, etc.), which breaks concentration and doesn’t feel as smooth.

Proposal

The attached screenshots (from Otty) show the kind of “project + Git” sidebar experience I’m hoping for. I don’t expect a 1:1 copy — just something in the same spirit, integrated into Ghostty.

Because Ghostty is already an excellent terminal, having these features built in would greatly improve day‑to‑day productivity. Thank you for considering it.

omg! that's so pretty. i integreated yazi into a libghostty version and that works well.

This is out of scope for a terminal emulator. You are free to use libghostty to build whatever you want that isn't squarely focused on being a terminal emulator.
