Hi, i would like to work on #12901

I could also try to find similar issues? Might be able to find other parts of the code which follow the pattern i described in the discussion.

Why do you want to make this change?

So that i (and some other people over at the ranger issue tracker) can use Ranger / Ghostty without pinning versions :)

Since i opened the discussion i did the ziglings repo and now i feel somewhat comfortable enough to take another look at the issue. Also the issue is annoying enough to be worth spending some time fixing but small enough that there isn't a lot of pressure if that makes sense :)
