Provide unavoidable statement about hardware requirements.

As a matter of courtesy, it would be nice if somewhere amidst any reference to installation, there was an unavoidable and obvious statement regarding GPU hardware requirements for this program. It would help to reduce the potential for negative feelings in the future. As "GPU acceleration" does not imply any particular hardware requirement for functionality.

Ghostty requires opengl 3.3 which is like 15 years old I dont think there need to be any explicit hardware requirements

Do you perhaps happen to know where you can find the actual source of the package? I'm having trouble navigating OBS' interface.

Still getting the error. Building from source might be the best route towards discovering a reason for the error.

Indeed. I had got to the same link, but could not figure out how to download those tarballs.

Edit: never mind I found it by randomly clicking on everything (I hadn't done this last time), looks like it's ‘Repositories’ → One of the four links → Download next to one of the tarballs.

Edit 2: Looks like there's only a pre-built binary...? I think I'm missing something crucial here.

@00-kat Assuming you are running a Debian derivative system, rather than acquiring the source code via downloading a compressed archive, you could always use the apt-src repo. It has been a minute since I have done it myself, but it is as I remember.

I unfortunately don't run Debian or any of its derivatives.

@00-kat 😕 Mass Confusion 😕... Not trying to pry, but if you are not running Debian, then why do you need the Debian source files?

@pluiedev @rhodes-b You gotta love Zig, it's pretty sweet. Build from source was faster than expected, and successful. Worked without complications from the single file binary.
