Will window-colorspace = display-p3 ever come to Linux?

Hi, I love the more vivid colors in macos when window-colorspace = display-p3 is being applied. I wonder if it's possible on linux.

I don't think that's even possible; Display P3 is an Apple thing.

We could add DCI-P3 support (my laptop in fact has a DCI-P3 screen) but I'm not sure what it would take to do so. It's also not exactly the same thing as Display P3 so something probably has to be changed anyways.

Love to see this feature since lots of displays support dci-p3.

And I wonder what if we just allow the display-p3 algorithm to be used on Linux? Will it achieve similar looks as in macos?

You'd need a Display P3 screen for that. Which means it would only really apply to Asahi Linux.

I am actually using a non-apple external display with my Macmini M4, and I am satisfied with the effect when window-colorspace = display-p3 is enabled.

I'd be open to having the renderer on Linux work in a wider color space - the biggest issues with that is OS support. If there's a convenient and accepted way to display wide gamut color via OpenGL in a GTK app then I'd gladly implement it- but when I looked in to this before I got the impression that wide gamut color on Linux was not very well established.
