Are you still looking to move forward with this extension? I happened upon it today, and coming from a web developer background I would love to be able to use this in my projects.

Along those lines, if there's anything that needs contributing towards, do let me know and I'll be happy to help where I can.

Hello! I'm happy to know that this extension would be useful for you!

I'm still looking forward with ReactGD, but as the idea grows, it's more difficult to implement functionalities that works smoothly with the Godot's built-in features.

Right now I'm trying to figure out the best way to describe the component node tree into a virtual node tree to make it easier and performant to update the actual node tree at the same time, that way you can add components to the UI without having then interfering with the actual Control nodes hierarchy, for example:

This hierarchy wouldn't allow VBoxContainer to sort the Buttons that are children of components, so I'm thinking of having something like this instead:

That way, I would still have components inside the tree hierarchy, but they will be represented as virtual nodes, and the actual nodes would be inside the actual node tree.

I think this is the same concept used in ReactJS, of having a virtual tree that are rendered into the actual page, so I'm experimenting with some ways of implementing this idea in ReactGD.
