How long does cloud sync take for you?

What kinds of sync times have people seen between devices on Android?

Once in a while it works in a few seconds, but most of the time it takes hours or even a day for a new save to reach my second device. We tried with two different pairs of devices and two Google accounts. We tried our own test app and the ChooseSave sample app. Syncing on our iOS devices is almost immediate.

Hey @JVimes. That's a very good question. I haven't specifically tested syncing Google Play Games data between multiple devices so I don't have an answer to that right now.

Maybe the problem is that we're always fetching saved games with the DataSource.ReadCacheOrNetwork instead of forcing the read from the network in FetchAllAsync 🤔
Could you try changing FetchAllAsync to call FetchSavedGamesMetadataAsync with DataSource.ReadNetworkOnly, in PlayGamesCloudSaveProvider.cs? If it works, that should be it!

@gilzoide Yes, that makes the data show up right away 🙂 And I see in the comments for ReadNetworkOnly that it falls back to cache if network is unavailable. It's a case of poor naming.
