Describe does not match command line

Running on Win7, the describe command is missing both the number of commits since tag, and the commit hash.

$ git describe --always --dirty=-uncommitted
sample-service-1.0.0-6-g1a28bee-uncommitted

$ cat src/main/resources/git.properties
git.commit.id.describe=sample-service-1.0.0-uncommitted

Have you set forceLongFormat to true?
Example:
<gitDescribe> <forceLongFormat>true</forceLongFormat> </gitDescribe>
