Configuration option to disable writing/reading snapshots to on-disk representation #2732
Description
As uncovered here: #942
the snapshots, specifically writing and reading their on-disk representation is what slows the whole app down.
I would propose a configuration flag that effectively disables writing/reading of these snapshots to disk to speed up the workflow with the app, since as of right now, the app has become so slow that I will have to switch to another app.
I'm faster with typing git commands than using this app now, which defeats the purpose of it's existence now.
