Text cursor is always shown in tmux, even when not active #1384

Description

Describe the bug

When using copilot-cli within tmux, the text cursor is always active, even if the pane (or even the terminal application) is not active. In the screenshot below, the active pane is the one on the bottom, correctly showing the text cursor. The middle pane is not showing any cursor as expected, but the top pane running copilot-cli is.

Affected version

GitHub Copilot CLI 0.0.406

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Create a tmux session
  2. Run copilot
  3. Do any split-window command
  4. The text cursor is still active in the copilot-pane.

Expected behavior

That the text cursor disappears from the copilot pane clearly indicating where I'm tying.

Additional context

  • Mac OS Tahoe 26.2 (25C56)
  • tmux: stable 3.6a (installed via homebrew)
  • I'm using iTerm2 but the issue occurs in the native Terminal app as well
