It would be great if Copilot CLI supported a configurable status line, similar to how Claude Code does it: 👉

This would make it easy to keep things like model name, context window usage, git branch, premium request quota, and MCP server status visible at a glance — without interrupting the workflow.

Would love to see something like this in Copilot CLI. 🙏

This is supported via the experimental statusLine.command config option. It lets you run a custom script whose output is displayed below the input area. The script receives a JSON payload on stdin with data such as model info, context window usage, premium request count, and session metadata, so you can format the status line to show what you need. The feature first shipped in v0.0.413 and has been refined since with config key alignment, path expansion, and session_name in the payload.
