Pull request overview

This PR adds a DMCA takedown notice from UK Biobank Limited regarding unauthorized sharing of proprietary biomedical research data on GitHub. The notice is part of an automated sync from an upstream repository and follows the standard format for DMCA notices in this repository.

Key changes:

  • Addition of new DMCA takedown notice targeting four files across two forked repositories (kevmanderson/ukbcc and laura-ponting/ukbcc)
  • Documents UK Biobank's request to remove files containing licensed research data that were shared in violation of their Material Transfer Agreement

💡 Add Copilot custom instructions for smarter, more guided reviews. Learn how to get started.

Researchers must sign UK Biobank’s non-negotiable Material Transfer Agreement located at https://www.ukbiobank.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Material-Transfer-Agreement.pdf.pdf, upon which a licence is granted to allow access to the data. Researchers can access the data via an account on our cloud platform, linked to each researcher’s individual registered account, or via a secure download using a unique time-limited encrypted key. These data (which, for the avoidance of doubt, does not include summary data and/or publications produced by researchers upon completion of their project) are not, under any circumstances, available for use on a public basis. Researchers have a contractual obligation to store the data securely and to not share data with any unauthorised third parties. By committing part, or all, of these data sets to a repository on GitHub, the user in question is in breach of their contractual agreement with UK Biobank.

The URL contains a duplicate .pdf extension. The URL should end with .pdf not .pdf.pdf. This appears to be an error that was introduced in recent UK Biobank notices (post November 4th, 2025), as earlier notices from the same organization used the correct single .pdf extension.

Grammatical error: "these file" should be "these files" (plural) to match the plural form established in line 41 which refers to "following files".
