What it does

Session Steward is a local-first session manager for Codex and Claude Code. It lets users browse, inspect, protect, audit, back up, restore, and safely clean recognized session records through a browser UI, terminal CLI, or MCP server.

The MCP server runs locally over stdio. Cleanup, restore, and schedule-management tools are marked as destructive so MCP clients can apply their configured approval policies.

Checked on September 16, 2026:

• Searching GitHub’s MCP Registry API for io.github.mallikcheripally/session-steward returns no matching servers.
• https://github.com/mcp/io.github.mallikcheripally/session-steward currently returns 404.
