New dialog is cropped and not resizable on my high DPI machine.

I have tried to make it resizable but have failed. Instead I just made it wider in the UI editor. The instructions that AI gives me to make it resizable does not work. I can't remember if I ever got a dialog to be resizable but I think I did.

You should see how empty it looks right now on my screen.

I was worried about this so I had made the text extra small and the box and buttons extra large. I even set the zoom percentage (I forget what it is called... scaling?) to 150% and then made the buttons even bigger, the text areas larger and the dialog even larger.

I guess I should have set scaling to 200%?

Anyway, hopefully you can fix it for us.

I found I could enable "size grip enable" in the QDialog part of the UI editor and although I can't see the grips the sides can now be dragged to a large view.

Hi @githubdoe I played a bit with v8.1.0 hand have been unable to reproduce something similar.
Could you share your display settings so that I find a way to reproduce ?

Also kindly confirm if you run into this issue with automated build v8.1.0 or a personal build ?

I've tried to duplicate Dale's experience but not sure how. I think if you change that 100% to 200% or even larger you will get something almost identical to what he sees.

However I seem to remember that Dale sees a much smaller number there (maybe 100%, maybe a little bigger but I don't think it's actually 200%). And we don't know what other difference there is between his windows setting and mine.

He bought a laptop with a crazy high resolution but a small screen and the people who sold the laptop realized that no one could read anything but rather than fix it with that text thing they did something else and I don't know what or where to ask Dale to search in windows. It's probably something deep in the registry that Dell (or whomever makes his laptop) messed with.

I'd like to make some changes to DFTF (simple changes) but want to wait until your changes are pulled in first. I know I don't have to wait but I prefer to work on the latest code.

If you experiences this on a personal build (Qt5) I highly recommend you test the automated one as Qt6 seems to have undergone many changes on this matter https://doc.qt.io/qt-6/highdpi.html

Dale have you tried dftf version 8.1.0? That was built with qt6 and maybe fixes the whole scaling issue.

I did not buy a laptop with a small screen. It is one of the largest screens you can buy. A 17.3". It is an HP Zbook Furry 17 G8

Just tried the new version. Gosh that is horrible.

The text is much too big now so that the wave front list takes up about 1/2 the screen. The Simulation view has horrible contrast on the controls they are shades of white. So many things are bad. Profile lines too thick. ....... Just about everything is terrible.

Here is the main screen. Profile text about percent of GB in black can not be seen. I might be able to get use to the black background but I have never liked it on other apps and usually change it.
