When working with multiple monitors, you often need to quickly capture screenshots from a secondary display. This tool is designed to meet that need.

Installation

Download Release

Download the latest release from Releases.

Build from Source

git clone https://github.com/givemegohan/monitor-snap.git
cd monitor-snap
cargo build --release

Output file: target/release/monitor-snap.exe

Usage

You can specify various behaviors using command-line options. It's convenient to create shortcuts with frequently used options.

Simple Usage (Default F9)

monitor-snap

The program starts and waits for the F9 key to be pressed.

Specify a Monitor

monitor-snap --monitor 0  # Primary monitor
monitor-snap --monitor 1  # Secondary monitor

Captures a screenshot from the specified monitor.

Learn a Hotkey

monitor-snap --learn-hotkey

Waits for a key press and registers the key combination as a hotkey.

Specify Hotkey Directly

monitor-snap --hotkey "Shift + F10"
monitor-snap --hotkey "Ctrl + Alt + C"

Uses the specified key combination as a hotkey.

Save as PNG

monitor-snap --save "C:/savedirectory/prefix_"

In addition to copying to the clipboard, saves the screenshot as a PNG file in the specified directory with an optional prefix.

Combine Options

monitor-snap --monitor 0 --hotkey "Ctrl + F12" --save "C:/screenshots/snap_"
