How to report bugs

DesktopXR support is focused on popular sim racing and flight simulator games.

Because headsets, runtimes, and games vary widely, it is not possible to support every combination. Other games may work, but they are not officially supported.

If you encounter a bug in a supported sim racing or flight simulator title, please create a GitHub issue and include the information below. This helps me track it down more quickly.

Before reporting

Please make sure your NVIDIA graphics card drivers are updated to the latest available version before creating a bug report.

Bug reports from systems using outdated NVIDIA drivers may not be investigated until the drivers have been updated and the issue has been retested.

Please include

  • A brief explanation of the issue
  • What you were doing when the bug occurred
  • The headset you were using
  • The OpenXR runtime you were using
  • The game or simulator you were using
  • Whether the issue happens every time or only sometimes

Your current settings file:

%appdata%\desktopxr\desktopxr.ini

Your latest session log:

%temp%\desktopxr\desktopxr.log

The most recent session is usually found at the bottom of the log file.
