Ability to manually select the Entity field

Would it be possible to add an option to manually select the Entity field when creating an item?

As far as I know, currently, you first need to switch to the desired entity before creating an item, otherwise the item is created by default in the Root Entity.

Wouldn't it be simpler to have a dropdown field allowing the user to manually select the entity to which the item should be assigned when creating it?

This would not prevent the current default behavior, where the item is automatically assigned to the entity the user is currently working in. It would simply add the option to manually change the target entity during creation, without having to transfer the item to another entity after it has been created.
