Discovered a regression in sec/op of 7.08% for benchmark RecursiveFunc-16 between 450f3f6 and c8bf388.

The commit range mostly contains compiler CLs.

I cannot reproduce on my M2 ultra. Performance at 2cde950 and c8bf388 is identical.
I will try a builder and see if anything is different there.

Doesn't repro on a builder either. Hmm...

I'm going to close. Not sure this is worth any more investigation.
