Ledger can already be used to secure WGNK today through an Ethereum address, but it’s true that WGNK doesn’t appear clearly as a separate asset in Ledger Wallet and the UX is not great. A native integration + clear signing would make things much easier, and Ledger visibility could also be interesting to get Gonka in front of more crypto users. A few questions before voting:
I like the idea, especially for visibility and UX, but $350k is a significant amount from so I think the expected ROI and commitments should be clear. Thanks. |

Hi everyone! This is Isabel from 6Block. I’d like to share an important update.
6Block has reached an agreement with Ledger to bring GNK and Gonka into the Ledger ecosystem. The goal is to support the integration of Gonka’s native coin, GNK, and wGNK across Ledger’s relevant infrastructure, including Ledger Devices and Ledger Wallet.
This is a major step for Gonka. Ledger is one of the leading wallet and custody infrastructure brands in crypto, and we believe Gonka should work with top-tier partners when it comes to user access, security, and adoption.
The integration matters for the network for two reasons:
First, it should make GNK easier and safer to use. Ledger support can give users a more trusted way to store, send, and receive GNK, which is important for broader adoption of the network.
Second, the agreement includes marketing and communications activities from Ledger after the integration goes live. This gives Gonka access to Ledger’s large audience and creates an additional opportunity to explain the network to users, builders, validators, infrastructure partners, and the broader crypto market.
Because Gonka does not currently have its own legal entity, 6Block is taking responsibility for the legal and financial side of this integration through Quant Mesh Limited, the legal entity that signed the agreement with Ledger. In practical terms, Quant Mesh acts as the legal contracting party and will handle the community funds required to pay Ledger under the signed agreement.
At the same time, this was not only a 6Block effort. @elcoldtown (Sergey), another Gonka community participant, led the negotiations with Ledger and helped bring the agreement to this stage. He will also be responsible for coordinating the marketing activities with Ledger after the contract is funded and the integration moves forward.
Since this is a serious and important proposal involving both legal authorization and Community Pool funds, we do not want to publish it for voting without discussion first.
We are preparing a proposal that will ask the community to:
First, ratify Quant Mesh Limited as the legal counterparty for the Gonka x Ledger integration.
Second, allocate the required USDT amount (350,350 USDT) from the Community Pool to Quant Mesh Limited so it can pay Ledger under the signed agreement.
Before we submit it to governance, we want to share the context with the community, answer questions, and collect feedback. We’ll be happy to clarify the agreement structure, the role of 6Block and Quant Mesh, @elcoldtown’s role in negotiations and marketing, the payment flow, and the expected value of the Ledger integration for Gonka.
Below you can find the full text of the intended proposal.
Proposal: Ratify Quant Mesh Limited as the Ledger Integration Counterparty and Fund the Initial Ledger Integration Payment
Summary
6Block proposes that the Gonka community:
Quant Mesh Limited, a legal entity associated with 6Block, has signed the Ledger Blockchain Integration Terms and Conditions and the related Statement of Work for the integration of Gonka into the Ledger ecosystem.
The agreement covers the integration of Gonka’s native coin GNK and wrapped GNK wGNK into Ledger’s relevant products and services, including Ledger Devices and Ledger Wallet, subject to the scope, prerequisites, timing, and conditions defined in the signed agreement.
This proposal is strictly limited to the Ledger integration and the initial payment required under the signed agreement. It does not grant Quant Mesh Limited a general mandate to represent Gonka in unrelated matters.
Quant Mesh Limited is acting solely as a facilitating agent for the Gonka DAO on a best-effort, non-profit basis. Quant Mesh Limited shall not be liable to the Gonka community or DAO for third-party performance, delays, or failures on the part of Ledger.
Proposed Authorized Entity
Company name: Quant Mesh Limited
Company number: 78217223
Address: Unit A, 22/F, Wing Cheong Commercial Building, 23 Jervois Street, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong
Background
Gonka is a decentralized, community-governed network and does not currently have a dedicated legal entity that can directly sign commercial agreements with third parties.
Ledger requires a legal counterparty for the Gonka integration. To move the integration forward, Quant Mesh Limited, a legal entity associated with 6Block, has acted as the contracting counterparty and signed the Ledger integration agreement.
The signed agreement requires payment to Ledger for the initial integration and first-year activation.
This proposal is intended to formally confirm the community’s authorization of Quant Mesh Limited for this specific Ledger integration and to transfer the required funds from the Community Pool so Quant Mesh Limited can pay Ledger.
Ledger Integration Scope
Under the signed agreement and Statement of Work, Ledger is expected to provide integration services for Gonka across the Ledger ecosystem.
The initial scope includes:
Ledger Devices
Support for:
Ledger Nano S is out of scope due to technical limitations.
Ledger Wallet
Support for:
Transactional Services
The agreement also covers potential transactional services in Ledger Wallet, subject to third-party support and technical prerequisites, including:
Marketing and Communications
The Statement of Work also includes Ledger’s commercially reasonable efforts, following integration go-live, to support launch communications through Ledger-owned channels.
Payment Request
The signed Statement of Work provides the following initial payment structure:
Total initial amount payable upon contract signature:
350,000 USD
6Block therefore proposes that the Gonka community allocate:
350,350 USDT from the Community Pool to Quant Mesh Limited (350,000 USDT for payment + 350 USDT processing fee)
These funds will be used solely for the purpose of paying Ledger under the signed Ledger integration agreement.
Use of Funds
If this proposal is approved, the 350,350 USDT transferred to Quant Mesh Limited will be used to satisfy the initial payment obligations to Ledger under the signed agreement, including:
Any unused remainder, if any, should either be returned to the Community Pool or reported to the community with an explanation of its status.
Renewal Fees
The signed agreement provides for potential annual renewal fees after the initial term.
This proposal does not approve any future renewal payment from the Community Pool.
Any future renewal payment, reimbursement, or additional payment to Ledger from the Gonka Community Pool must be approved through a separate governance proposal, unless already covered by another valid community decision.
If no future renewal funding is approved by the community prior to the end of Year 1, Quant Mesh Limited reserves the right to terminate or let expire the Statement of Work with Ledger without penalty or liability to the Gonka community.
Scope of Authorization
If this proposal is approved, the Gonka community ratifies and authorizes Quant Mesh Limited to:
Limitations
This authorization is strictly limited to the Ledger integration.
For clarity, this proposal does not authorize Quant Mesh Limited to:
Any broader mandate would require a separate governance proposal.
Rationale
The Ledger integration is important for the Gonka ecosystem because it can improve:
Since Gonka is community-governed and has no dedicated legal entity, the community needs a legal counterparty to complete the Ledger integration process. Quant Mesh Limited is proposed for this role because it is a legal entity associated with 6Block, a long-term Gonka mining and infrastructure participant. The purpose of this proposal is to make the arrangement explicit, transparent, and approved by Gonka governance.
Reporting
After the initial Ledger payment is completed, Quant Mesh Limited and/or 6Block should provide a short update to the Gonka community confirming:
After the integration is completed or goes live, Quant Mesh Limited and/or 6Block should provide a further update covering the status of the integration and any relevant follow-up actions.
Requested Vote
A YES vote means that the Gonka community:
A NO vote rejects this authorization and funding request.
Thank you, and we’re looking forward to your feedback!
