Thank you: ARTEMIS is making everyday life more accessible for a blind user in South Korea
#183
I am a blind user living in South Korea, and I wanted to share how much ARTEMIS has been helping me in my everyday life. I use it together with my AI assistant to interact with my Android phone.
Here in Korea, food delivery platforms—similar to Uber Eats in the US—and online shopping platforms—similar to Amazon—frequently run discount promotions. Unfortunately, accessibility issues often make it difficult or impossible for me to read the promotion details and figure out how to participate.
Previously, I had to keep taking screenshots manually and showing them to an AI, one screen at a time. With ARTEMIS, my AI assistant can now scroll, tap, and explore the app while talking with me, instead of requiring me to capture every screen myself.
Just a little while ago, I bought a pair of Crocs through a Korean shopping platform and saved approximately KRW 12,000 (roughly US$9) with a discount. The AI assistant worked through the shopping process in conversation with me, right up to the point where I needed to authenticate the card payment with my fingerprint. I handled that authentication myself and completed the order.
I was genuinely amazed. For a blind person, a tool that can help understand a screen and carry out the necessary actions is much more than a convenience: it expands what we can do independently.
I know ARTEMIS is useful for developers, automation, and QA, but I wanted to share this experience because it can also make a real difference in the everyday lives of blind people. This is not just a testing use case—it helped me understand an otherwise inaccessible promotion and actually use it to make a purchase.
Thank you sincerely for building ARTEMIS and making it openly available. I wanted the team to know that your work is already helping someone in a very practical and meaningful way.
