Question: go 1.26 newexpr replaces Ptr?

With golang 1.26 release they modified how new() works and for example the modernize linter replaces github.Ptr with new.

Is that correct behaviour? Can Ptr be removed from use in go-github?

Yes.
Ptr will be deprecated and replaced with new once go-github module uses Go 1.26 or newer. Currently it uses Go 1.25.
