New
- Automatic updates (Sparkle 2): Borne checks GitHub every day, offers the new version, installs it and relaunches. Every update is signed with Borne's EdDSA key; anything else is refused. Borne menu → Rechercher les mises à jour… checks right away; Settings → Général can install updates automatically. Versions before 1.7 need this one installed by hand once.

New
- Diagnostic for every game, at the end of its details: what is there, what is missing, and how to complete it.
- PC games: the engine, the game files, the id Software update a game needs, and the files it expects (Quake demo, Strife and Quake 4 voices, RTCW and Wolfenstein 3D files), with buttons to download an engine or install an update.
- Arcade games: Diagnostiquer asks MAME for the game, its parent, BIOS, devices and samples, then checks every file, and says which set to add or replace with its MAME 0.289 version. Files no one has a good copy of are flagged as such.
Fixes
- The settings showed downloadable engines (openQ4, Raze) as built in; they now say "to download" or "downloaded".
- The selected game could move to another one when the list refreshed in the background; only a click or a key changes it now.

New
- Doom 3 and Resurrection of Evil, with dhewm3 1.5.5 (the maintained version of id Software's
GPL source), built by Borne for Apple silicon and Intel. Both may be installed in different folders.
Original discs (version 1.0) need the official 1.3.1 update: Borne offers to download it after you
accept id Software's license, and keeps only its data files. - Download all modules at once: Settings → Data lists every module Borne downloads on request
(Freedoom, Raze, openQ4, the Quake III, Quake 4 and Doom 3 updates) with one button. id Software's
updates are only included once you tick the box accepting their licenses. - Mirrors: redistributable modules (Freedoom, openQ4, the Quake III patch with its license) are kept
in themodulesrelease and used if their
original source disappears. The Doom 3 and Quake 4 updates may not be redistributed. - Return to Castle Wolfenstein: found whatever its folder is called, one entry per language, and only
the original game files are loaded (not mod files such as RealRTCW's).

External modules (mirror)
Copies of the external modules that Borne downloads on request, kept here in case their original
location disappears. Borne first downloads each one from its official source and uses this copy only as
a fallback; either way the file is checked against the same SHA-256.

Fix
- No more "Accessibility Access (Events)" prompt when playing Duke Nukem 3D, Blood and the other Build
games, or Doom on Intel and older macOS. The official Raze and GZDoom recenter the pointer by posting a
synthetic mouse event, which macOS gates behind the Accessibility permission and asks for in Borne's name.
Both are now built by Borne with a small patch that moves the pointer without any permission
(engines/patches/zdoom-cocoa-cursor-warp.patch).
GZDoom is bundled; Raze downloads on request from the
raze-1.11.0-bornerelease, and Borne
offers to replace an official Raze installed with 1.3 or 1.3.1. If you already refused the prompt,
nothing else to do; if you granted it, you can remove Borne from System Settings → Privacy & Security
→ Accessibility.

Fix
- Quake 4 from the original DVD: the 2005 discs stop at
pak012.pk4, while openQ4 needs the data of
the 1.4.2 update (pak013–pak022). Borne now offers id Software's official 1.4.2 update (Linux edition,
kept on archive.org, checksum verified) after you accept its license, and keeps only its data files, in
your user folder.

New games
- Quake III Arena and Team Arena, with Quake3e (Vulkan). Old CD copies need the 1.32 patch:
Borne offers to download id Software's official files after you read and accept their license. - Return to Castle Wolfenstein (single player), with iortcw.
- Quake 4, with openQ4 0.13.2 (Apple silicon), downloaded on request from its official release.
- Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, Shadow Warrior, Redneck Rampage, Exhumed, NAM, WW2GI, with Raze 1.11.0,
downloaded on request from its official release. - Add-ons are grouped with their game, and new files are picked up as soon as they land in the folder.
Vulkan
- Doom on Apple silicon: the real cause of the green image is fixed in UZDoom itself (render targets
were never cleared). UZDoom now runs with current MoltenVK (1.4.2) on macOS 26; GZDoom 4.14.2 is used
on Intel and older macOS. - KosmicKrisp, Mesa's Vulkan driver on Metal 4, built from Mesa 26.2.5, is used on Apple silicon with
macOS 26 (MoltenVK elsewhere; switchable in Settings).
Other
- Settings in tabs (General, Arcade, PC games, Data).
Downloads are verified by checksum; nothing is ever written to your games drive.

Raze 1.11.0 for Borne
Raze 1.11.0 for Borne, downloaded on request by Borne (not bundled). Universal (Apple silicon and Intel),
signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple. macOS 10.15 or later.
Built from the official Raze 1.11.0 source with the official
macOS build tooling, with one change:
engines/patches/zdoom-cocoa-cursor-warp.patch.
Raze recentered the pointer by posting a synthetic mouse event, which recent macOS versions gate behind
the Accessibility permission (a prompt shown in the name of the app that launched it). The patched build
moves the pointer with CGWarpMouseCursorPosition, which needs no permission.
