I doubt this'll fix any current issues, but should still be done at some point so might as well be while I'm looking at it.
Note: don't run rubocop and you won't see the 77 violations. I did a quick check and there's nothing egregious, mostly just busywork like 'prefer single quoted strings'. Evidently it wasn't a required passing step in the previous releases, so I'm letting it slide for this one too. Might clean it up in a breath week though
