Hi, very useful addon, but it doesn't seem to work in Linux (gnu-linux fedora, blender 4.5* or 5.*), the "Startup Presets" TAB has only the title

Hi there, @cypsimone , Apologies for late reply and thanks for giving it a go.
Could I ask if you to go through a complete unisntall and then reinstall using the script I am providing here
First downlaofd this script, which is just a refactor of the script in the extension already, but with explicit consideration for linux as well...

So the Steps [just i ncase you arent familiar with the process]..

Uninstall Plugin.
In Preferences -> Addons: SSearch for "Startup", unisntall this plugin completely.
Then; Shut Down Blender 5.
Reopen Blender 5 and navigate to AddOns and in the top right corner, search for the "Install For Disk" dropdown near the search.
Choose Install from Disk, and naviagte to the script saved on your local drive, Install from there.
At that point, do you get the same thing in your screenshots? [no automatic folder created and no file path to nominate in the Add-ons options for the plugin?]
Apologies for the step by step talk, but I just uninstalled mine, and that's exactly how I reinstalled it, everything working as expected and was able to see the folder path and navigate to my own already filled folder.
Again sorry for asking you to try this out, or just tell me you have already and I will try to think of another resolution.

In the meantime/ as an alternative; this other option which is to be fair much more developed than mine may be an alternative "just what you were looking for" if my help is no good :)

In multiple Blender 5.0.1 instllations -> the "Startup Presets" TAB has only the title.
The following message is reported in the system console:

Hey @cypsimone . Thanks so much for the message and feedback. I uploaded a later version to resolve this vey recently. Did this happen through an extensions install or manually installing from disk?
Apologies it's not working as expected for you. I'm back at my workstation on Saturday and can certainly try and trouble shoot it then. If I get a chance in between i will update you on here. In the meantime could i suggest looking in the previous comments above yours here as this looks like a very similar issue - obvs cant be sure until i get to testing it saturday, but it may help if we're lucky and resolve it by workaround til then:)

Hey @aditG555 Thanks for getting in touch, I have just updated the plugin on Blender Extensions, this should work now.
However , if you are experiencing strange behaviour, my next suggestion is to uninstall it in Blender and then use the workaround above that was posted for cypsimone here; Which has a link to a plugin you can download and install from disk :)

I have just tried to reinstall it myself again [after fixing] on Blender 5 [Windows 11 but OS should'nt really matter here]
I completely uniinstalled the plugin from the Extensiosn panel in Preferences.
Then I shut down Blender, and restarted it.
Then navigated to the Extensions Panel, searched the plugin using the term "start" and Installed it again.
This worked as expected and tested with 0 errors.
I made a quick video of it to show you my experience with the fixed verison of this plugin :)
Completely new install using latest 2.9.0 + version of plugin

edit: I have actually just updated some UX features to delete and edit presets now too - BONUS haha :)

Hey buddy, thisis fully updated and tested working via Blender extensions now. If youhave updates turned on, this will porvide you the latest [more featured] version
New Features inc;

1. Editing preset names and persisting that change to the folder your presets are stored in.
2. Deleting the preset using the X icon next to the preset name.

These were feature requests from a reviewer, that seemed a good idea, so done :)
