Labels, Categories and Tags.. features?

Hello, and a big thumbs up to the creators of Markor! I discovered this app only two weeks ago and I haven't been able to turn my attention to anything else since :)

Ok, first off, I've managed to create a little 'Yearly_Organizer' to manage my notes/events/activities. It's pretty basic, YEAR --> Month -->Category-->File (content). I like that a long file name gives me an instant glimpse/note view and I don't need to open the file unless I want details. A bit tricky to 'time-stamp' the folder structure because the months need to remain in chronological order while the categories/files need to be sorted by date and since sorting function either by date or alphabetically is global, there is a conflict. But that aside for the moment.

I'm using Markor/file structure as a basic template/repository for a Time Line app I hope to build. As it stands now it's a 'poor man's database' for such a GUI time line but that's fine. I see great potential! The next step in my development process is to incorporate 'tags,' 'labels' and possibly 'thumbnail images' for additional tagging/view options. Apologies if 'tagging' and 'labels' are already built-in-- I haven't been able to find them.

Accordingly, the present 'Favorite' (star) label needs to be expanded to render options for 'Level of Importance' (for simplicity number of stars would do, but ideally descriptive. Each file entry also needs tags! Further, a 'thumbnail image' tag would be useful giving instant visual recall of an event, but perhaps too esoteric a feature at this juncture.

With these features one could create a graphical folder tree structure that for my purposes could serve as an interim 'poor man's time line.' :)

In a nutshell:

1. Select or search by category.
2. Filter by 'level of importance' or 'tag'
3. Display in graphical schematic:

Example:

MEDICAL-HEALTH
(tag/level) ---> doctor appointments (for any given time period)
(tag/level) ----> hospital visits
(tag/level) ---> weight/diet entries
(tag/level) ----> moods/ailments/incidents

A graphical folder tree-structure would be most desirable :)

Note that custom sort orders per folder just got merged. It will be available soon.

We have full-text search. I just use #foo as my tag format and search for that when i need something.

Your other requests are IMO somewhat out of scope.

I have been investigating building applets within markor with Javascript (see #2278). If I figure out how to do this cleanly, that will be the way forward for efforts like this.

Ok. Thanks! Understood. Tags ok. With respect to sorting, it would be nice to have a 'creation date' along with 'modification date'. (See elegant example in Orgzly note app). While the creation date in Markor can be included in the file name presently, it looks a bit horsey and cluttered. A discrete sub-header in small grey font along the modification date would be great. I prefer the simplicity of 'plain text' only for file names. With respect to dates, the built-in options for various formats yy-mm--dd and vice versa all make sense, but curiously the modification date underneath the file name in my version is in the US format: mm-dd-yy only. This drives me bonkers because that order is not logical to my mind and I seek to avoid it whenever I can. Any way of modifying this?
