Gogg v0.5.0

This release includes a large GUI redesign (including the ability to log in from the GUI), new download features, and a large number of bug fixes and internal improvements.

Main Changes

New Features

• Added cloud save backup from GOG GALAXY, in the CLI (gogg saves command) and the GUI (Add save file management #58).
• Added faster downloads for large files by splitting them across several connections (Faster download speeds? #92).
• Added checksum verification of downloaded files against the values GOG publishes.
• Added update detection for downloaded games ([IDEA] Track game version changes #47).
• Added more library filters and collections (like filtering by genre, size, update age, etc.) (Updated filter #33).
• Added the option to sort the catalogue by purchase date (Sort by date of purchase #91).
• Added a config file for setting default download options (It would be great if we could set defaults (like default platform, download folder, whether to include DLCs whene available) in a settings.json file or the like. #86).
• Added a Lutris-compatible folder layout for downloads.
• Added selectable accent colors and a polished, more readable theme (colour scheme #46).
• Added support for using keyboard for managing the downloading process in the GUI (When downloading using the gui be able to do everything with the keyboard to help with automation #66).

Login Improvements

• Added the ability to log in to GOG from the GUI.
• Reworked the login command's logic and added a --code flag for manual authentication (Rework login #57).
• Fixed a bug in the log in logic (Fix the login bug #88).

Other Changes

• Revised and redesigned the GUI (Improve the UI #32 and Revise and redesign the GUI #100).
• Fixed a large number of bugs (especially in the GUI).
• Raised the Go version to 1.25 and updated dependencies, including security fixes.
• Improved the project's test coverage and added macOS and Windows to the test matrix (Add tests for the GUI #54).
• Added a base flake.nix for reproducible builds on Linux and macOS.
• Updated project documentation and examples (to be up-to-date with changes).
