Lost understanding how to setup

I apologise in advance, but im confused as to how to set this up. If its not too much of a hassle, does anyone have a video example they could share, of getting this up and running?

No need to apologise — the README is long and the install steps are buried near the bottom, so that's on me. Here's the short version. If you tell me what you're installing on (Unraid, Synology, Portainer, a Linux server, Windows with Docker Desktop…), I can tailor the steps.

Before you start

• Docker with Docker Compose on the machine that will run Omnibus.
• A free ComicVine API key: create an account at comicvine.gamespot.com, then visit https://comicvine.gamespot.com/api/ to see your key. Omnibus uses it for covers and issue details.
• Prowlarr, download clients, and the rest are optional — you can add them later.

1. Make the folders, for example:

omnibus/
├── config/        (Omnibus keeps its database, logs and cache here)

    ├── comics/    (your comic library)
    └── downloads/ (where downloads land)

2. Make a secret. Run openssl rand -base64 48 and copy the result (any random string of 40+ characters also works). Keep a copy somewhere safe — Omnibus also uses it to encrypt the passwords and API keys you save.

3. Make the compose file. Copy the docker-compose.yml from the README's Installation section into the omnibus folder, then change only these:

• NEXTAUTH_URL → the address you'll type into your browser, e.g. http://192.168.1.50:3000 (your server's IP, no trailing slash)
• NEXTAUTH_SECRET → your secret, in both places (the omnibus service and the omnibus-engine service)
• the volume lines, in both services: /path/to/your/nas/config → ./config and /path/to/your/nas/data → ./data
• TZ → your timezone

4. Start it. From the omnibus folder, run docker compose up -d (older installs: docker-compose up -d). docker compose ps should show three containers running. A warning that version is obsolete is harmless.

5. Run the Setup Wizard. Open your NEXTAUTH_URL in a browser. The wizard asks for an admin account, then your ComicVine key; you can click Next past any step you're not ready for and fill it in later under Settings. On Storage Mappings, use the paths inside the container, not the folders on your server: Download Scan Root /data/downloads, library folder /data/comics.
