What's New

Today.md — plain-text daily plan

A new 01 Now/Today.md file replaces flaky calendar API integrations with a markdown time-blocked schedule. Faster to scan, easier to edit mid-day, and never breaks because an MCP server is down.

  • /morning offers to build Today.md with a visual timeline (time blocks, gaps, tentative items)
  • /afternoon reads Today.md to show progress against the plan
  • /goodnight uses Today.md as the richest source for what was planned vs what happened
  • Stale detection: commands check the heading date and skip gracefully if it's from yesterday
  • Fully opt-in — unstructured days work fine without one

Timeline format uses block characters for at-a-glance scanning:

README rewrite

Restructured for clarity: Who This Is For, The System (four layers from sessions to extended breaks), NIPARAS folder structure, Quick Start, all 21 commands in one table, and Under the Hood technical details.

Other improvements

  • Path-keyed memories warning in CLAUDE.md template — explains how to recover memories if you move your vault
  • Area-owned Archive subfolders — project archiving convention updated so completed projects archive into their parent Area's Archive subfolder
  • Windows line endings — .gitattributes added for cross-platform consistency
  • /shutdown alias for /goodnight
  • /patterns added to README commands table
  • Deprecated /daily-review removed — /goodnight is the replacement
  • /de-ai-ify genericised for template use
  • /goodnight working memory guard — prevents re-reading session files after user corrections

Upgrading

Run /update inside Claude Code, or manually:

The new 01 Now/Today.md is a template file that gets overwritten on first /morning use.
