Is the example out of date?

I was able to get the example working after fixing some type errors, but despite seeing some log output when connecting emacs-lsp and invoking certains commands, e.g. textDocument/formatting or textDocument/rename, other commands result in : The connected server(s) does not support method <method>

Furthermore, lsp-describe-session shows no capabilities.

Is the example up-to-date with the approach in #196? I don't fully understand the example code yet, but it still mentions registering capabilities.
