@bgamari proposed we backport the fix in #363 to some of the previous major versions, maybe at least the ones shipping with GHCs that are still getting releases.
Afaict, the process in process (HAH!) currently does not admit to such backports.
I would propose we create branches for the major versions, then create tags on the major version branches for the respective minor versions.
Does that adhere with what you're used to from other core libraries?
