How to patch SP or CU on existing SQL Server

Hello Prakash,

I have changed little bit code so SQLAgent separate account can be pass and working fine.
Now I have question about how to patch SP or CU on existing SQL Instance. I have tried to install but did not get success after added SQL Binaries location with SP\CU Location and worked out fine but after that SQL Services are not coming online(Need manual to restart Service even though set to Automatic).

Is there any other way to just patch SP or CU without passing binary location and without passing account parameters?

I think you are asking if you can do slipstream or not MS now recommend populate SP and CU in one folder and pass that as folder for patch...

Thanks Prakash for your response. I have put in one folder but without adding SQL Binaries location, Is it possible to patch only SP and CU?

One more question, How to install SSMS separate setup file using this code(SSMS is separate tool now)? Is it possible to integrate with current code to Install SSMS?

Kiran, There is ssms only option is there to install ssms. same for SSDT patching only is not supported ~ Prakash
