@IacobiniMarioEduard Thank you for the detailed list. The first point is done and out with 1.98.0: spur gears, ring gears and racks now go up to 150 teeth, for example for a large wheel of module 0.5. For the other points, please open a separate discussion for each, so they can be followed one by one. If you'd like to support the project, a small donation is very welcome. 🙂 |

@henmedia thank you very much. Please consider a larger number for gear teeth; 150 was an example. Consider a 500 limit. Theoretically, the gear can be larger than this, but 500 is a large acceptable limit. |

Hi everyone,
First of all, I really like the direction this project is heading and the features that have already been implemented. Great work so far!
I have a few suggestions and feature requests that I believe could make the gear generator even more powerful and useful for engineering and mechanical design.
1. Increase the Maximum Gear Tooth Count
I've encountered a limitation in the current gear generator, which appears to cap the number of teeth at 64.
It would be great to increase this limit to 150 teeth or more per spur gear, particularly for smaller modules such as M0.5. This would allow for much greater flexibility when designing gear mechanisms.
2. Gear Meshing and Interactive Positioning
A particularly valuable feature would be the ability to automatically mesh and chain multiple gears together, ensuring proper tooth engagement and smooth mechanical operation.
Ideally, this could include:
3. Support for 90° Crown/Face Gear Meshing
Another useful addition would be support for 90-degree gear transmission using crown (face) gears meshed with spur gears.
This would open up more possibilities for designing compact right-angle transmission systems.

4. Advanced Gear Drive Generators
Looking further ahead, dedicated parametric generators for more advanced transmission mechanisms would be an amazing addition to the project's engineering capabilities:
Having configurable parameters and automatic geometry generation for these mechanisms would make the tool significantly more versatile.
Overall, I see a lot of potential in this project, especially if the gear generator evolves beyond creating individual gears into a more complete parametric gear design and assembly tool.
Thanks for the great work so far! I'd love to see these capabilities added in future updates.
