Upgrading from beta.1 or beta.2? Just update through HACS and restart — no config changes needed.

Upgrading from v3.x? Make sure you're on v3.5.3 first, then upgrade to beta.3. Direct v2.x → v4.0 upgrades are not supported — upgrade to v3.3.1 first if you're still on v2.x.

⚠️ Minimum Home Assistant Version

Tado CE requires Home Assistant 2025.11 or later for smarter rate limit handling. Older HA versions will work but fall back to a fixed 15-minute retry interval after quota exhaustion."

What's New

• All sensors now use live HomeKit data — Temperature, humidity, smart comfort, window detection, insights, preheat decisions, and boost calculations all use the freshest reading from your bridge instead of waiting for the cloud. Your history charts should now be smooth instead of spikey.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed temperature and humidity sensor charts showing spikey data when HomeKit is connected (Some odd behavior in 4 -Beta2 #224)
• Fixed smart comfort, window detection, insights, and preheat using stale cloud data
• Fixed climate card showing wrong target temperature after switching to Auto mode (Discussion 🏠 HomeKit Local Control — Looking for Early Testers #219)

Improvements

• HomeKit Connected sensor shows "Never" instead of blank for last_disconnected

Internal

• Codebase cleanup from architecture review — removed unused code paths

Tracking is looking good i think. @hiall-fyi

I have a switchbot Co2 monitor sat on top of the tado landing wireless thermostat. The values look pretty close here! The switchbot is on battery there so it's 30 minute refresh rate i believe.

Just placed the Switchbot one on the lounge one also. It was about 4m away so just moved it so that might be the temp difference.

Ignore the time i've not updated that haha!

Haha love it — you've got a SwitchBot sat on top of a Tado like some kind of peer review system for thermostats. At this point your thermostats have more oversight than most government departments.

Good to see the readings are tracking closely though, that's exactly what we want. And the lounge one being 4m away explains the gap — physics still wins over software unfortunately.
