A Claude skill for planning, researching, drafting, and reviewing articles that win on classic SERPs and get cited inside AI answers (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Copilot, Claude).
Turns the 12-step SEO + GEO playbook into something Claude follows automatically. The moment you ask Claude to write, outline, brief, or refresh an article, this skill activates and walks the work through:
- Pillar + topic cluster selection
- Full Ahrefs keyword and prompt research (Keywords Explorer, Site Explorer, Content Gap, GSC Insights, Brand Radar, Parent Topic clustering, Traffic Potential and Business Potential prioritisation)
- Citation-friendly format choice (listicle / definitive guide / comparison)
- Outline with H1 + 40–60 word Quick Answer block + question-mirroring H2s + FAQ
- Quick Answer drafted first (the block AI engines lift verbatim)
- Dense writing with numbers, dates, original stats, and E-E-A-T
- Triple schema stack (
Article+FAQPage+ItemListorHowTo) - On-page SEO pass (title, meta, slug, internal/external links)
- Machine-readable HTML, TL;DR box, comparison tables
- Publish, index, distribute (GSC + Bing + LinkedIn / Reddit / YouTube)
- AI visibility tracking, not just rankings
- 90-day refresh cycle
It also enforces a pre-publish checklist and a list of anti-patterns to avoid.

Done. Next time you ask Claude to write or research an article, the skill kicks in automatically.
You don't have to. The skill's description triggers it automatically when you say things like:
- "write a blog post / pillar page / listicle / comparison post"
- "draft an SEO article", "rank for [keyword]", "get cited by ChatGPT"
- "do keyword research", "Ahrefs", "Keywords Explorer", "Content Gap", "Parent Topic", "Traffic Potential", "Business Potential"
- "topic cluster", "GEO", "AI Overviews", "Brand Radar", "prompt research"
- "Quick Answer block", "FAQ schema"
- "outline / brief / refresh an article"
The keyword research step uses Ahrefs in this priority order:
- Ahrefs MCP — preferred when connected (calls Keywords Explorer, Site Explorer, Rank Tracker, Brand Radar, GSC integration directly).
- Claude in Chrome extension — same Ahrefs reports, driven through the browser.
- CSV exports — fallback when neither is available; the user pastes exports and Claude walks through them.
SKILL.md— the full 12-step process with frontmatter that controls auto-triggering. This is what Claude reads.README.md— this file (for humans).
Open SKILL.md in any editor. Two parts to know:
- Frontmatter
description— controls when the skill triggers. Add or remove phrases here to tune sensitivity. - Body — the actual playbook. Edit freely; Claude follows whatever's in it.
The methodology pulls from current Ahrefs documentation (Keywords Explorer, Brand Radar, Content Gap, GSC Insights, Traffic Potential vs Search Volume, Business Potential, Parent Topic), 2026 GEO research (Princeton GEO study, ConvertMate GEO Benchmark, SISTRIX AI citation drift), and SEO trend coverage from Search Engine Land, Search Engine Journal, Semrush, and eMarketer.
