This seems to be a Claude specific issue and not something we can really change on our side. The "permission set by your admin" thing isn't something I have ever encountered before when using Claude desktop. If it turns out this is a setting on our side then please open a new issue with more information and I will address it, but right now this appears to be purely on Claudes side. I can recommend a few things: you can try asking Claude itself about the setting, sometimes it will help. Or you can try using Claude Code which has a really good auto accept mode; when you get Claude code started up in a command window you can literally just ask it to set up ha-mcp for you and it'll figure it out. Finally, if you use the addon version instead of the UV/UVX version you can try connecting to Claude.ai which should also give more options, and usually the Claude.ai settings will copy over to Claude desktop too, but you'll need to set up reverse proxy for that. I'll transfer this to a discussion so you can discuss further, but again if you determine that there's some setting in our code that's causing this that I've overlooked then please open a new issue and I'll be happy to address it. |

My Claude thinks ""Permission set by your admin" + greyed-out auto-accept is a Claude Desktop client-side policy state, not connector config. The reporter explicitly has Dev |

Thank you for not closing. "This seems to be a Claude specific issue and not something we can really change on our side. " Yes I 'd agree. There seems to be quite a few Issues on the Claude desktop around auto approve settings not being taken. For me I see real oddities when Dev mode and local AI is enabled in Claude desktop. Inference works. But I have to manually approve tens of individual requests one by one. It's driving me crazy. I wiped cache/fresh install and same issues. Interestingly on second install, ha-mcp .sh ran but didn't actually install it. So now I don't even have it running at all. |

OK I got it to work in Claude Desktop again. It was to do with Dev Mode in the end. When Claude Desktop is in Dev mode (Local LLM), it uses a different settings file. So your config needs to go in... Auto approve options are still greyed out in Connector settings. |

I noticed also I'm getting IP banned from HAOS repeatedly. Any way to stop that? |

That's a first for me. One thing you could consider if you want to stick with Claude desktop you could literally ask Claude code to troubleshoot it for you. That's honestly how I've been able to get it to work in the past. |

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to enable auto accept in the custom Claude Desktop Connector settings.
As a result I have to manually approve tens of authorisations. It makes the MCP unusable. Does anyone have any experience enabling auto accept? I can't find any settings in the GUI and in the cfg file
"bypassPermissionsGateByAccount": {has no effect whether true or false for the only user ID in there. I'm not on an enterprise account. I'm a single user with Dev Settings enabled (to get local inference). All reactions
