Thanks! A 48 kHz option for the USB audio is a good idea. I've noted it as a to-do for an upcoming update. |

48 kHz is in Felucca 1.1.5: https://github.com/hugelton/Felucca/releases/tag/v1.1.5 The USB audio input now offers 44.1 and 48 kHz and the computer picks the rate (on macOS in Audio MIDI Setup or by your DAW's session rate). The FM-1 still runs at 44.1 kHz inside, so at 48 kHz it converts on the device (flat to 18 kHz, about 94 dB SNR) and a 48 kHz session records it without the computer resampling. At 44.1 kHz the samples go out untouched, as before. Thanks for the idea @firstnevyn! Changing the internal rate (your 36 kHz idea) is a much bigger change, so I've left that for later. I'll close this one. |

One of the cpu tradeoffs that I'm not sure has been explored. is to change the sample rate.
But it'd be nice to be able to run at 48K and avoid resampling on the pc side when using USB.
Additionally it might be useful to have a 36kHz mode for reducing cpu usage (niquist rollof would be ~18kHz which is acceptable for everyone over 30 :D ) and would give you more polyphony.
USB hosts (windows and mac apparently don't implement non 44.1/48k sampling rates) but linux would be fine. and you could always interpolate before advertising 48khz to the host.
