I want to clarify how Felucca is developed and share my thoughts on AI-assisted development.
AI Usage
I use AI coding agents, including Anthropic Claude Opus 5.5, Fable 5.1, and OpenAI Codex GPT-5.6 Sol.
These tools are used for coding, testing, documentation, translation (I'm Japanese), and maintenance.
Felucca does not use generative AI to create music or visual artwork. All icons and visual design are my own work.
My Perspective on AI
I understand that some people have ethical concerns about AI-generated content, and I respect their views.
However, I see a clear distinction between using AI to develop a musical instrument and using AI to generate music.
Felucca is not an AI music generator. It is a musical instrument developed with AI-assisted coding tools. I don't believe users should have to take ethical responsibility for the development tools used to build their instruments.
Personally, I don't see AI-assisted programming as carrying the same ethical concerns as AI-generated music or illustrations. I also believe that AI assistance has become a normal part of modern software development.
That said, I'm personally critical of AI slop apps. AI can be a useful tool, but I believe developers should take responsibility for what they create, regardless of how it was made.
The instrument's concept, features, sound design, interface, and overall direction are my own decisions. AI helps me implement them, but the responsibility for Felucca remains mine.
As the license notices show, Felucca also builds upon existing open-source projects and technologies, whose contributions are acknowledged.
Transparency and Forks
I believe everyone should be free to decide whether they want to use software developed with AI assistance.
That's why I'm making this information public.
However, this is my personal approach to transparency, not a requirement for others.
I do not expect or require forks or derivative projects of Felucca to publish similar AI disclosures. Each developer is free to make their own decisions about this.
