Having select be assignable with various options would give a few nice improvements to usability and workflow. Examples:

Thanks for the idea, and thanks @tradiuz for the list. Now that BPM LOCK exists, giving SELECT more to do makes sense: a setting for what SELECT does (BPM, paging through the current menus, transpose, moving through the steps) is close to what I have in mind. Noted for 1.1. |

I’ve been thinking about the role of the SELECT knob.
It feels like such a valuable physical control to dedicate mainly to BPM. Tempo is important, of course, but it’s not something I constantly need to adjust while working with the instrument.
Now that BPM LOCK exists, maybe SELECT could become a more general navigation/editing control — for navigating menus, selecting steps, moving through parameters, presets, songs, etc.
BPM could then be accessed through a modifier or another existing control when needed.
It feels like this could unlock quite a lot of extra functionality without changing the hardware.
