You're not missing anything: playing the keys live is never quantised, but recording into the sequencer snaps each note to the nearest step, because a step is the smallest unit a pattern stores. For finer timing, set the track's DIV shorter (down to 1/32) so the steps are closer together. Free timing (an offset per note, so recordings keep your feel) is noted for 1.1, together with nudging steps (#47). |

unless im just unable to find it, it squashes or forces notes into strict areas, maybe theres something im missing, i just like to be able to lay out a melody or two, and then throw things underneath no squashed timings needed. useful for when i want them. if this is possible to be added itd be great as thats really the missing piece, for me personally.
