@human9mil human9mil released this 04 Jul 22:51

Renames the app id to io.github.human9mil.cinemamode, preparing for Flathub and KDE Store submission (both require proving GitHub namespace ownership via reverse-DNS app id). No functional changes.

Shows real monitor names and fixes a real hang-risk bug.

  • Real monitor names (e.g. "LG UltraGear (DP-2)") read from EDID, shown in the monitor list and dropdown, instead of bare connector names like DP-2
  • Fixed: toggling could freeze the app indefinitely if kscreen-doctor hung — the toggle now has a timeout and recovers safely
  • Added diagnostic logging (see the new Troubleshooting section in the README) for kscreen-doctor failures
  • Various small robustness and packaging improvements

Adds a global keyboard shortcut and a system tray icon, so cinema mode can be toggled without opening the window.

  • Global shortcut: Meta+Shift+C (remappable in System Settings → Shortcuts → Cinema Mode)
  • System tray icon: left-click toggles directly, right-click gives Show Window / Quit
  • Closing the window no longer quits the app — it keeps running in the tray
