DAYZ DOG MOD
This mod adds various kinds of dogs to your DayZ. These furry gentlemen can act as your buddies on your travels through the post apocalyptic world of DayZ. They are able to attack infected to protect you and your friends and guard you while you sleep. There are various breeds you can pick from, the complete list can be found here.
Dog can be obtained by either picking it from a Dog house, server owners can spread those around the map, or by taming a wild dog. Both cases require some snack for the dog, like bones or meat to actually convince him you are the right person to follow
Dogs have 3 modes they can operate in
- Follow (switches automatically to patrol mode when an infected in your target range has aggro on you)
- Patrol (can freely attack nearby infected)
- Stay in place (waiting mode)
Your dog can accompany you even in your car and you can control him with emotes.
You can call him by whistling if he gets lost (see your keybinds in options menu of the game).
Watch for your buddy carefully, when dogs gets way too injured, they die!
The dog logs off and on with you so there is no chance that someone will kill him when you are not online.
If you die, you will, ofcourse, lose your buddy.
Dogs, just like any other animal, are deployed on the server either by using territory files, these files are shipped with the mod, or by creating the above mentioned Dog Houses.
