A monitor which is DPMS'd off is quickly removed then added again on wake #13654

btw for context I'm tracking these monitor removed / added things by using the hyprland ipc events https://wiki.hypr.land/IPC/#events-list It's weird that these are emitted because they aren't emitted through suspend cycles in some cases. It's not just emitting the wrong event though, the monitor is actually removed and then added again, I can tell if I try to move my mouse between the boundaries of the monitors the monitor is actually gone for 2 seconds, before recovering |

I believe I'm seeing the same thing, i noticed after upgrading packages on my system to 0.54, workspaces are jumping to random ones rather than the one i was focused on. Seen this thread today, so decided to watch socket2 with socat (don't know if theirs a better way literally took the command from the wiki and added -v) all happens during the period of the monitor waking (left all the other events for workspaces, layers, etc also), not sure if any of this is even useful edit: just to add, i don't know if this was happening prior to Hyprland version 0.54 because i wasn't checking, but i did not have this weird workspace behaviour prior. edit 2: i should also mention i'm on an AMD GPU |
Uh oh!

A weird one here, but was causing some issues with my bar.
When a monitor is dpms off'd (
sleep 1; hyprctl dispatch dpms off DP-2), if woken up again within about a minute, the monitor would seamlessly wake up again. However when waiting at least a few minutes before waking the monitor up again, Hyprland would quickly report the monitor as removed / disconnected, then added / reconnected again. I added logging to my ags bar, which said this when it occurred:
this was on moving the mouse to wake. Hyprland indeed removed that monitor then added it again in quick succession when it was woken up from DPMS.
I'm running an NVIDIA gpu, is there any way this could be a GPU driver problem?
