RC-505mk2 Assistant v0.2.0 (Beta)

Talk to Claude. Describe an FX rack. Upload it to your Boss RC-505mk2 over USB.

Local Claude Desktop extension for the Boss RC-505mk2 — browse bundled presets, build custom racks from modules, and push memory configs to your device. No cloud, no API keys.

Install (Claude Desktop)

1. Download rc505mk2-v0.2.0.mcpb below
2. Double-click → Install in Claude Desktop
3. Connect RC-505mk2 → MENU → USB → STORAGE → CONNECT
4. Try: "List bundled rack presets" or "Load the vocal plate rack to slot 5"

Prefer to audit the code? Clone the repo, run npm install && npm run pack:mcpb, and install the .mcpb you built locally.

What's included

• 21 MCP tools — browse, build, upload, device detect
• 43 bundled rack presets + 33 FX modules
• Workflow instructions on MCP initialize (Adapt vs Build, TFX rules, upload path)
• 4 built-in prompts in the extension manifest

• Feedback welcome — please open an Issue with OS, Claude Desktop version, and what you tried
• macOS best tested — Windows/Linux reports appreciated
• Verify on hardware before a gig — complex racks may need a follow-up prompt
• Upload merge vs overwrite — be careful not to wipe slots unintentionally
• RC-505mk2 only — not compatible with mk1 or other loopers
• Not marketplace-listed — manual download from this Release
