007 First Light — RX 580 D3D12 / AMD Driver Crash Fix

If you are looking for the original fix that makes 007 First Light playable on AMD Polaris / RX 580, this repository is not the main fix.

These files are an additional compatibility fix for users who already installed the RX 580 fix but are experiencing a specific startup crash.

What Problem Does This Fix Address?

Some RX 580 / AMD Polaris users may successfully install the main 007 First Light compatibility fix, but when launching the game they may experience the following behavior:

• The game starts to open normally.
• A black screen appears for a few seconds.
• The game then closes/crashes.
• In some cases, the game does not start at all.
• The crash may occur inside the AMD graphics driver component amdxc64.dll.

This appears to affect certain Polaris configurations and AMD driver environments.

The original RX 580 compatibility fix can work correctly on the same GPU family while some specific systems still encounter this additional driver-related crash.

This repository provides an additional application-local workaround for that situation.
